In Destiny , the Exotics that will be available with Rise of Iron are now known. These are the 7 lost armor pieces from “King of the Taken.”
In Fall 2015, significantly more exotic armors appeared in the database than actually made it into the game: 18 exotic armors were in the database. Only 9 made it into the game, and later in the winter, two more were added – the other seven Exotics remained lost. They did not arrive with the April update, even though some had expected them.
Just now, Bungie updated the database and revealed the Exotics for Rise of Iron, and lo and behold: The long-lost 7 exotic armor pieces serve as armors.

So far, Bungie has been silent about which exotic armor pieces would be coming to the game. It remains to be seen whether the expectations of the Guardians regarding the armor pieces will be met after more than a year.
By the way, there seem to be no surprises with the exotic weapons – all Exotics that come with Rise of Iron were more or less already known: Thorn, Khostov 7G-0X, Outlaw, Nemesis Star, and the Gjallarhorn.
