In Destiny, there are indications that the “Xbox One” users will have to wait longer for the PS-exclusive items from “The Taken King” than expected.
In the weekly update “This Week at Bungie”, the community manager Cozmo summarizes the events of recent days. He points to the new features, possibilities, and ground rules that the Private Matches bring. We have already dealt with this in detail.
Furthermore, he mentions the Account Import, which can currently be performed and which leaves behind the old consoles. The PvP events will continue on PS3 and Xbox 360 until the end of August, and then that will be it. The old consoles will remain on update 2.3.1.1.
Will PS-exclusive items remain PS-exclusive for now?
So far, it was assumed that the PlayStation-exclusive content that came in year 2 of Destiny would be available for Xbox Guardians with the launch of “Rise of Iron”. Apparently, that is not the case.
According to an interview on IGN, Kotaku Australia reports that this PS-exclusive content will not arrive for Xbox until at least Fall 2017.
These contents include PvP maps, the weapons Jade Rabbit and Zen Meteor, a strike, and gear sets. The Redditor THConer has also looked into this and claims to have found out that Xbox Guardians indeed have to wait longer.
Thus, the PlayStation-exclusive contents from Destiny: The Collection include a strike, a quest line, two PvP maps, two exotic weapons, and legendary armor sets.
Since the PS-exclusive contents from “The Taken King” include only one map, one quest line, and one ship, he concludes that these TTK contents will remain exclusive.
Additionally: If you go to the Destiny page, it states for the “Echo Chamber” strike and the gear sets, which you already know from TTK or the April update, that these are PS-exclusive at least until Fall 2017.
The signs are thus indicating that Xbox users will have to wait longer for content such as the Zen Meteor and the Jade Rabbit.
Update: In the meantime, this has been confirmed by Activision. “At least until 2017” is true.
The “The Taken King” expansion and Destiny: The Collection will be released on September 20, 2016.
