In the MMO shooter Destiny , the next Iron Banner is coming in February, along with its own streaming studio.
After last night’s patch brought no changes, only preparing the 320 ghosts, “The Latest from Bungie” came out overnight. We summarize the main points.
This time in “This Week at Bungie”: not much new. Community Manager DeeJ is proud that there will now be a dedicated recording studio for live streams and video shows. Until now, one had to find a room at Bungie’s headquarters and set up a makeshift recording setup. Now they plan to install a dedicated studio in a fixed location and aim to broadcast something every week, from smaller events to major announcements.
For larger announcements, they will probably again involve “the higher-ups” at Bungie. In Year 1, they presented both DLCs in this manner. From this whole initiative, they expect more transparency, want to introduce developers, provide insight into their work, or simply hang out with players.
The February Iron Banner in Destiny
There were preliminary details announced about the February Iron Banner. It will take place in the “Clash” mode. The Iron Banner starts on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 PM. It ends on Tuesday, March 1, at 10:00 AM.
The purchasable rewards from Lord Saladin include:
- At Rank 3: Gloves and PlayStation-exclusive Gloves
- At Rank 4: Helmets, PlayStation-exclusive Helmets, and Sniper Rifles
- And at Rank 5: a Rocket Launcher.
As rewards after the match, there is a chance for:
- From Rank 2: Gloves and PlayStation-exclusive Gloves
- From Rank 3: Helmets and Sniper Rifles
- From Rank 4: a Rocket Launcher
Be nice to each other, your opponent might be your neighbor – less lag in Destiny
There may be “new matchmaking” rules activated for Iron Banner. This is what Destiny suggests, but it doesn’t promise it.
They also tinkered with the matchmaking rules again last night: They are supposed to place “even more emphasis on proximity” than before. Bungie warns: Be kind to each other, your opponent could come from the neighborhood. They expect this will lead to less lag in Destiny.
