Give the spaceships more significance!
At the moment, unfortunately, nothing can be done with the spaceships in Destiny: they can only be collected and used to spruce up the loading screen. Great! You get the ships by completing Crucible matches, Strikes or Raids, as well as through random drops – basically in every conceivable way – and at a quality varying from normal to legendary. There is only one frustrating aspect to all this: it doesn’t matter what kind of ship you have, it has absolutely no use.
The community believes that the interstellar vehicle could definitely be utilized more. Why not allow players to shoot each other in rapid-fire PVP matches? After all, we know from The Taken King from various cutscenes that the ships have significant firepower on board. So why not face the Darkness in space? Instead, we let it invade our home and then shoot it down from there. Space battles are feasible in both PVE and PVP. Or do you see it differently?
How likely is it that these wishes will be implemented?
Whether and when these wishes from the community will find their way into Destiny is not yet known. But the Sparrow event is the best example that Bungie is at least trying to respond to the Guardians’ requests. After all, they now advocate the idea that Destiny should evolve from a shooter to a hobby.
The community manager DeeJ lists several other wishes that have reached Bungie’s ears, such as: Private Crucible matches, customizable weapon skins, additional matchmaking options, and, of course, additional vault space and more vault options.
Bungie can quickly tinker with the smaller wishes, while large events like spaceship battles take weeks and months to develop. But who knows, maybe the next big thing will come to us sooner than we dare to hope.
