In the MMO shooter Destiny , the patch 1.2.0 has been applied on PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. We summarize the patch notes in English.
Not so: House of Wolves is delayed because Bungie couldn’t finish 1.2.0. It went a bit smoother than feared in the meantime. The update 1.2.0 is here, and it brings some changes to everyday life in Destiny. We have summarized the patch notes for you in English.
The patch 1.2.0 doesn’t really do anything drastic. It introduces “exchange options” for materials and fixes some annoying issues with the weapons Vex Mythoclast and Black Spindle. Most of the goodies will probably be saved for next Tuesday.
Weapons:
- A problem with the Vex Mythoclast has been fixed that sometimes prevented primary ammunition from being available upon respawn.
- The Hive Disruptor perk reappears with the sniper rifle Black Spindle. Additionally, some bugs related to it have been fixed. Hive Disruptor conflicted with “White Nail”, the perk that causes 3 precision hits with the weapon to refill the magazine.
- Bungie also fixed issues with the perks “White Nail” and “Shadow Gift”. These caused ammo not to be restored under certain circumstances.
PvP
- In the “Salvage” mode, the first relic should now appear more centrally.
- Players should no longer have to wait excessively long to respawn.
- The announced increased rewards are only available from May 19 with “House of Wolves.”
Tower
- The reward packages from the factions no longer give shards.
- The rewards from the crucible and the vanguard are no longer necessary to acquire gear and can be converted into 250 reputation for a faction.
- Etheric Light will only be available from May 19
Bungie recommends that the legendary engrams you find now should only be exchanged on May 19. It might even be the case that the Cryptarch refuses to decrypt new legendary engrams.
Additionally, there have been some changes to the user interface and the companion app, as well as improvements to technical stability. Guardians should now hear more distinctly when hit by energy weapons. Bungie also fixed the Grimoire card for Mercury.
The main part of the changes in Destiny will only come on Tuesday
Looks like 1.2.0 was indeed significantly smaller than expected. Most of the “exciting” changes will likely become active on May 19 with House of Wolves. However, there may still be some secrets hidden in Destiny – like the swords of Crota on December 2. If that’s the case, we will report on it.
Starting May 19, the hotfix 1.2.1 will introduce the following changes (in addition to the House of Wolves going live):
- The PvP will be significantly more lucrative, 100% bonus on everything, some new legendary items, the Darkness Lurks crucible maps will be accessible to everyone.
- There are 6 new bounties in the Iron Banner; “second and third characters” of players who have already succeeded in this Iron Banner will progress significantly faster.
- The Cryptarch will no longer convert new legendary engrams into shards, but only legendary items or exotics will come out.
- Daily Heroics will no longer give light particles and no shards anymore.
- and the announced connection recovery system will be introduced for the Trials of Osiris.
These two changes were already stated in the original patch notes for May 15, but they were also postponed to May 19:
- The Speaker now exchanges Ascendant and Glimmer materials for Light particles.
- Xur exchanges strange coins for Light particles (this is new, we didn’t know this before).
The Queen’s Wrath event has quietly started
Update: There are definitely already some hidden changes in the game! Petra Venj is in the Tower, distributing 3 new bounties. You can even use the new relic weapon “Scorch Cannon”. We will then report about it in a new article. It seems that “Queen’s Wrath” is active again.
Initial reports suggest that the new exchange options at the Speaker and Xur are not yet active.
