At Destiny , Bungie revealed that with the “The Rise of Iron” expansion, the class items of shaders will also be affected (again).
Black is timeless and never goes out of style! Style-conscious Guardians can give their character an elegant black look by activating the appropriate shaders. If it shouldn’t be black, alternatives like yellow, blue, or even turquoise are available. Shaders are items that allow you to color the Guardians’ gear as you wish.
However, with “Year 2” of Destiny, there was an unconventional change: The class items from “The Taken King” can no longer be changed in color. The emblems, cloaks, and bonds remain in the color in which they were received for the classes.
So it may now happen that you give your Guardian a fresh and nice look with cool shaders, but the class item does not match at all and ruins the whole look.
Well, many players probably care less about that. As long as the Guardian is strong and powerful, the appearance is irrelevant. However, those who have found these uncolorable class items a thorn in their side can now breathe a sigh of relief.
What color would you like?
Game Director Chris Barrett recently spoke via Twitter and announced the following news:
Wouldn’t it be cool if the class items in “The Rise of Iron” were affected by shaders again? We thought so too.
He also posted this image, which shows two colored Hunter cloaks:
On the left is an Osiris cloak and on the right is the Dustwalker cloak. The latter is from the first year of Destiny, which immediately sparked speculation. Will the “Year 1” class items return? Will they be upgraded?
However, no further information is known yet, other than this announcement from Barrett. We may receive more detailed information at Gamescom.
