In the MMO shooter Destiny, the week starts on Tuesday at 10 AM for many players with the weekly Nightfall Strike. This week it leads to the Nexus and is quite tough.
24.5% bonus on experience points and reputation of all kinds is available all week for successfully completing the weekly Nightfall Strike. Therefore, Guardians dare to take on what is probably the hardest challenge Destiny has to offer on Tuesdays – and the direct rewards are not bad either. Due to the time change, the reset has already happened at 10 AM, not at 11 as in previous weeks.
What is the Nightfall for the week starting October 28th?
The Nightfall takes the Guardians to Venus and the Nexus this time.
What are the modifiers this week?
In addition to Nightfall (meaning you have to return to orbit after a wipe) and Epic (which adds the right punch), there are three following modifiers this week:
- Angry – because of this, enemies never give up, even when they take heavy damage.
- Juggler – this modifier means you never get ammunition for the weapon with which you defeat an enemy.
- Voidburn – this modifier increases all Void damage caused by both you and the mobs.
Is the Nightfall hard this week?
Well, the fact that many enemies in the Nexus themselves deal Void damage makes the Strike quite tough, it is particularly difficult to do solo. Especially the final boss, Sekrion, is a pain. Two direct hits should extinguish the light of every Guardian. Also, the splash damage from his weapons is still extremely painful. Experts on reddit advise extreme caution; you should wait for the final boss’s attacks, then take a few shots at him and retreat to cover. During the final fight, it is especially important to combat the masses of spawning adds, otherwise they will find a way to extinguish the light. Those who want to attempt it solo will probably have to stick to some known “cheese” spots, spots where it is easier to take out the enemy because you can shoot back minimally. With the right weapons, however, the Guardian can hit hard and slice through enemies like a hot knife through butter.
What weapons are recommended?
Weapons with Void damage are highly recommended this time due to the modifier. The sniper rifle Preadyth’s Revenge is a good choice, and the Supremacy from the Queen’s event also serves well. Among auto rifles, Atheon’s Epilogue is recommended, and some swear by the machine gun The Swarm.
As always, we have put together some videos showcasing successful completions of this Nightfall for you.
In the video, the player uses the Supremacy and cheese spots to take on Sekrion solo:
In this solo run, the player, a Bladedancer, uses the machine gun Swarm and his stealth ability to save as much trouble as possible:
The Guardian, a Titan, solos the Nightfall thanks to superior firepower and because he can really take a hit:
