In Destiny , the plan for the “Age of Triumph” update has been presented. However, the important announcement was for Destiny 2.
Today at 6 PM, Bungie released the long-awaited information about the Spring update for Destiny. Although calling it “information” is somewhat of an overstatement.
When is the next Destiny update coming? When is the release of Age of Triumph?
Bungie only announced that the next update will be called “Age of Triumph”. It marks the farewell to Destiny 1; it is the last “Live Event” and a free update. “Age of Triumph” aims to bring Destiny 1 to a worthy conclusion.
Bungie has announced three live streams for the upcoming weeks:
On March 8, the update will be presented in its entirety
On March 15, everything will revolve around the “weekly rituals”
The release date for Age of Triumph is at the end of March. Bungie does not say it themselves, but it should actually be March 28. Updates at Bungie typically arrive on a Tuesday evening our time.
No further details about “Age of Triumph” were provided. However, the images (especially the cover image) suggest that it could bring the Guardians back to the “Glass Chamber”, the first raid of Destiny.
The idea that Bungie would recycle the old raids for an update was a popular fan theory. It seems that this is coming true. Certainly, in the next few hours, experts will analyze the three released screenshots and mine further information diamonds.
Destiny 2: Hard Reset is Coming
The most important information was about Destiny 2, although it was also brief and only revolved around the question: “Reset or not?”.
All items and possessions will remain in Destiny 1; they cannot be transferred to Destiny 2. So no weapons, no exotics, no ships, nothing. Even items from the Eververse and currencies cannot be taken to Destiny 2. All of that will still be accessible in Destiny 1. This means: Destiny 1 will not be shut down once Destiny 2 goes live.
Players will be able to keep every Guardian who has reached level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission: meaning their class, race, face, hair, and so on. Accounts with these Guardians will also receive a “Veteran Reward” in Destiny 2.
Bungie says: Only in this way can they ensure they meet the expectations that players have for a sequel. They promise: Destiny 2 will be the best game they can create, free from the burdens of the past.
Whether we at Mein MMO will accompany the next three Wednesday evenings live streams from Bungie with a live ticker in German, you will find out at another time. But we already announce that we will announce it.
This afternoon we presented what we expect from the update:
