In the MMO shooter Destiny there have been hints about a new exotic scout rifle since last week. Could it be related to the MIDA Multi-Tool? Or is it a special reward for 50 calcified fragments?
With the patch came the questions. As Guardians fetched their old and hopefully future favorite weapon, the scout rifle MIDA Multi-Tool, a new “slot” opened up in their collections for an exotic weapon, a scout rifle.
The questions started to pile up: Where can you find it? What’s it about? Because it seems like a new exotic weapon has been added to the game since last Tuesday, which no one has found yet.
In the past, Bungie has hidden exotic weapons in the game like Black Spindle, Sleeper Simulant and No Time to Explain.
Is it related to the MIDA or the calcified fragments?
At the moment there are three theories. One says: This new exotic weapon is “somehow linked to the MIDA”, some secret is waiting for us. Oh my God, we need to comb through all the Daily stuff immediately and turn everything upside down. This theory has become less popular since the community had already gone totally crazy twice, while the relevant exotics were tied to “time locks” and could not be found before a certain date.
Theory 2: It’s a bug, something went wrong. At first, it seemed that Xbox players were shown the Jade Rabbit . Others said it was the Fate of All Fools, which was mistakenly listed. But at the moment, it seems to be these two weapons.
The third theory states: It has nothing to do with the MIDA, this “scout rifle” is surely the weapon available for 50 calcified fragments. It is the “raid exotic”, maybe an “upgraded Touch of Malice.”
If theory 3 is true, we will find out tomorrow. The challenge mode for Oryx is coming. Those who complete it will be able to receive the 50th Calcified Fragment. We had already speculated that there might be some special reward for it.
Maybe it really is an exotic weapon. Until now, it was speculated that it could be an upgrade of the Touch of Malice possibly to attack value 330. Either way: Tomorrow will be exciting in Destiny. We will report back promptly.
