In Destiny there is still no sign of seven Exotics.
We first introduced them in September, just before “The Taken King”: the 18 new exotic armor pieces for Year 2 in Destiny. Because 18 pieces were already visible in Bungie’s public database and people thought: Sure, these are the ones that will come.
7 of them are still awaited. And some feel betrayed by Bungie. We take a look at the history of the “lost seven.”
With the Three of Coins came the Exotic rush…. But something was missing
When “The Taken King” was really there, madness broke out. Players realized how powerful the “Three of Coins” were and that they could quickly and easily acquire Exotics – much faster than in Year 1. However: Strangely, many of the new exotic armor pieces that had already been seen in the database could not be found in the game. 9 of the 18 armor pieces simply did not exist. And some decoded 5 engrams and it always turned out the same thing. Many already thought the system was simply bugged.

Later, Luke Smith, the Game Director, said he wasn’t afraid of this “Three of Coins” hype, because he knew exactly which items could be obtained and which could not: Only the players themselves had no idea, as Bungie had never said which Exotics were actually in the game.
The database, as we know at the latest since then, cannot be trusted.
