In Destiny, Bungie is planning to adjust and roll back unintended changes from update 2.5.0.2.
When the balance patch 2.5.0.2 went live last Tuesday, it sparked heated discussions. Because it brought not only surprising innovations but also a bug that Bungie was aware of, yet they still rolled it out with the hotfix.
This bug affects the perk “Hungry Blade” of the Blade Dancer Hunter. It is a focus node that regenerates health when you get kills with the Arc Blade (Super) or the Moment Strike (Melee).
The intended changes are:
- Immediately triggers health regeneration
- Regenerates more health per kill
- Provides a set amount of health/shields per activation
- Does not immediately trigger shield regeneration
However, the problem now is that these changes were unintentionally applied to other perks that also initiate health regeneration. Right after the launch of 2.5.0.2, Bungie announced that they were aware of this bug and almost postponed the patch. However, they want to wait for community feedback first. Because perhaps these changes are advantageous for some perks.
“Bug” will be removed or adjusted
Bungie has now responded again: In the last few days, they have received a lot of feedback about this issue, which is why they are now working on fixes. For some perks, the unintended change will be completely removed, while for others it will be adjusted.
These perks will keep the change, but the amount of health points returned will be increased by 58%:
- Hungry Blade
- Red Death
- Life Steal
- Transfusion (Cooldown will also be removed)
- Cauterize (Cooldown will also be removed)

For the remaining perks affected by the bug, the changes will be fully reverted:
- SUROS Legacy
- No Plan B
- Dusk Shield
- Apotheosis Veil
- Embrace the Void
There is still no specific date for when these adjustments will happen. Bungie is working on it and conducting tests.
