Bungie has promised us a “significant increase in the light level” for spring. This can essentially mean two things:
Either it will be like with the introduction of hard mode in the raid, they will just let some items that already exist drop in “better versions,” about 10 points higher, so that players can reach 330. They can infuse a bit, go back to hunting. Otherwise, nothing really changes.
Or they do it like back in the DLCs. Change the inventory of the vendors, completely swap it out, go 20, 30 points higher, introduce new, stronger items. That would be a big deal. Depending on whether players can “take their items to the higher level” or not, Guardians would completely exchange their arsenal like they did for “The Dark Below” and later for “The Taken King.” Another way would be to “take the current arsenal and upgrade it” like for “House of Wolves.”
That was the House of Wolves solution back then.
Most players will probably wish for the “big solution” with a variety of new items. However, that would only make sense if new game content came along in which there are “better items.” So there would need to be an endgame activity.
In the past, these were raids or the Prison of Elders.
That the light level will be increased is clear. But what method will exactly be used, we still do not know.
The return of the Thorn Queen?
A new weapon balance
The spring update will again adjust the balance of weapons. This is actually quite certain. Bungie promised to address this quarterly to ensure that the Crucible does not stagnate and become boring. The last change came in December, and the current one is actually overdue if they want to stay on track.
At the moment, scout rifles and sniper rifles are trending. What the next balancing will look like is uncertain. Speculation can run wild again.
