The MMO shooter Destiny will give players the option to adjust the voices of their friends to be louder or quieter in the next patch 1.1.2. The music can also be adjusted. There is also something prepared for colorblind players.
It’s Thursday evening again, and that means it’s time for a Weekly Update. There, Bungie informs players about what they are planning for Destiny soon. Next on the agenda is patch 1.1.2, which will fix raids, rebalance strikes, and increase the vault, if they manage everything they have planned.
This week, however, they are presenting the more technical aspects of the patch.
What for the ears
With 1.1.2, they want to greatly expand the audio settings. Sometimes you want to hear your teammates very clearly and have the in-game sounds quiet: In the future, you can set it up that way as well.
And if you’ve had enough of the award-winning soundtrack of the game , you can simply play your own music and mute the game’s soundtrack without missing out on important sound effects. “We’re not trying to take it personally!” Bungie assures at this point.
For Bungie, the minds behind Halo, it’s not unusual to have hidden an Easter egg somewhere in this area of Destiny. However, they won’t say what it is! Typical!
What for the eyes: Colorblind players will find it easier in the UI in the future
The graphics settings will mainly be aimed at colorblind players and take them into consideration. Recently, World of Warcraft has done this, maybe Bungie took inspiration from their colleagues. After all, they are somehow related to Activision.
This is mainly about clearly differentiating shades and small nuances that colorblind players can no longer distinguish from one another.
In the image, for example, you can see on the left the normal view, in the middle how a colorblind person with green blindness sees the image, and on the right how they will be able to see it in the future. There are also settings for red and blue blindness. For many of you, this may not seem like a big deal. However, for those affected, it is a huge step in the right direction.
A little wink has been hidden for the Iron Banner exploiters in this Weekly Update. The video of the guardians logging in shortly after the reset and rushing to Lord Saladin stands as a conclusion to the Weekly Update. This week’s update is more technical, without any major surprises. Hopefully, the players will find surprises in the coming weeks. This week’s appearance of Xur on March 20 at 10:00 AM in the Tower could be surprising after last week’s prediction failed. It’s quite possible that the current forecast for Xur’s inventory might also be incorrect, and Bungie is making adjustments by hand. We will find out in a few hours.
