Recently, we reported on the monitor puzzle in Wrath of the Machine. When well-hidden monitors are activated in the new raid, deadly laser beams that protect a chest are disabled. So far, many beams have been deactivated – all except one. People have been racking their brains over how the puzzle could be solved.
Now it seems that streamer Datto and his fireteam have managed to reach the chest. On reddit, the necessary steps are listed. We will translate them into German.
First confusing, then complicated, then the solution, then a quest
A total of 8 steps are needed to open the chest.
- Start the raid.
2. Activate all previously known monitors. You can find the locations of these screens here.
3. In the “Diamond Room,” four Guardians must stand on four canisters. The order in time does not matter. Stand on the following marked canisters:
4. In the server room, the two other Guardians must stand on the two platforms to the left and right of the monitors. As soon as everyone has taken their position, the Guardians in the server room will see “activate monitor”.
5. Now, the four Guardians in the Diamond Room step down from the canisters and onto the bridge.
6. Now it gets complicated
- Only one Guardian has to press “Activate Monitor”.
- A number will now light up on each monitor. This can be 0000 or another number.
- The left monitor is the “column”.
- The right monitor is the “row”.
- You now need to convert the numbers into decimal numbers. For this, this site is useful.
- Now, the first person in area 00 enters the respective canister (You can see the areas in the upper graphic). When he enters it, the canister lights up from below.
- Now a new number appears on both monitors. Convert this and the person in area 01 enters their canister. You do this for all 4 Guardians.
- Once you have done this, the diamond opens.
7. Next step: Complete the raid and defeat Aksis.
8. Now go to the room with the hidden chest. A platform should now open here. Activate the last monitor and open the chest.
The new quest – for the exotic pulse rifle?
Now you will receive a quest series named: Channeling the Corruption.
The first quest step: “Be The Battery”:
Complete tasks with a fireteam consisting of a Hunter, a Titan, and a Warlock. These include: A nightfall strike, three public events in the Plaguelands, three Crucible matches or heroic strikes, and 50 kills with a pulse rifle.
Second quest step: “That Light May Bind”:
Synchronize the “SIVA Engine’s Energy Flow”. Here you have to solve a puzzle and show some mathematical skill. Each person’s number is different.
Third quest step: “Parts of a Whole”:
Attack Fallen in the Plaguelands. Collect the SIVA technology that Shiro-4 needs. You need to defeat Sepiks Perfected, participate in the Archon Forge three times, and explore the Plaguelands.
Then you need to arrange energy inputs. The solution has already been found. 1 is on top, 4 is on the bottom:
- Warlock is 13334

Update: The user was able to obtain the new exotic pulse rifle with the quest series. It is called “Outbreak Prime” and has the predicted perks. Here is a screenshot of how he receives it from Shiro:
Outbreak Prime comes with a light level of 390. It has the perk Virulence: Precision kills cause SIVA bombs to stream from the weapon, attacking nearby enemies.
