An update is upcoming next week for Destiny. The skeleton keys will be revised.
In “This Week at Bungie,” the upcoming winter event “The Dawning” is previewed. DeeJ once again points out the return of the Sparrow Racing League, the Strike Scoring, and “new” Exotics that you can obtain starting December 13th. Alongside this event, an update titled 2.5.0 will be released.
The update 2.5.0 will be released on December 13th at 7 PM on PS4 and Xbox One. We will learn the full patch notes on Tuesday, but Bungie is already giving a taste of what is to come.
More skeleton keys, fewer bugs
Firstly, a bug fix is mentioned that many guardians have been waiting for: A problem will be fixed where guardians did not receive the trophy/achievement “Student of History” or the badge “Seal of the Wolf”. These are awarded when you have completed all “Iron Lord” artifacts. It will now be possible to complete the trophy collection.
Further changes:
- Skeleton keys: You will guaranteed receive a skeleton key if you complete the Nightfall strike once during the week. There is one per account for the first completion of the Nightfall each week. Additionally, the drop chance for a key will be slightly increased in the SIVA Crisis playlists (heroic and normal) and in the Nightfall strike.
- Green engrams: This has already been seen in gameplay material for “The Dawning”: Once you reach level 40, green engrams will be immediately and automatically converted into weapons or armor pieces. This is Bungie’s way of taking that tedious task off your hands and saving you time.
- Brother Vance now offers a material exchange, trading passage coins for light particles.
- Legendary weapons from the Gunsmith Rank 2 quest can now be repurchased from the gunsmith. If you have disassembled Stillpiercer, Immobius, or Susanoo, you can now get them back.
Two more important notes:
- The Nightfall strike next Tuesday will only be available after 7 PM, once you have downloaded the update. You will see the error code “Honeydraw” from 10 AM to 7 PM if you try to access it.
- This has already been shown in-game days ago: If you want to obtain the Sparrow “EV-42 Nightstalker” through the PS4-exclusive quest “With Finesse and Speed”, you must do this before update 2.5.0. After that, this quest will be removed.
