In the MMO shooter Destiny , the great moments are accompanied by the voice of Lord Shaxx. It makes everything better.
According to the developers at Bungie, the main characters in Destiny should be the Guardians. The guy holding the controller is the hero, and the other players in voice chat are meant to become the most important supporting characters in his heroic story.

That was once the plan, but now some NPCs play an increasingly important role, like the jack-of-all-trades Cayde-6, the dark murmuring Eris, the sly Variks, or the gruff Zavala. Their roles were further expanded with “The Taken King.” Yet, alongside these story characters and notorious villains like Master Rahool or Xur, who players appreciate for their function, other characters have also gained fame: foremost among them is the Crucible announcer. Originally a thankless role, but in Destiny, Lord Shaxx has achieved cult status.
In the original English version, the actor Lenny James voices Lord Shaxx. James is known for his role as “Morgan Jones” in that TV show with zombies. No, not “Lindenstraße,” we mean “The Walking Dead.”
Among players, Lord Shaxx now has a legendary reputation. He comments on the Crucible matches where players pit their Guardians against each other.
Most of the time, he is a murmuring voice in the background, almost like a sound effect or mood noise. He adapts like a good soccer commentator to the state of the match. But when things get particularly heated, the veteran of many battles sometimes loses his composure, and then there are a few lines you haven’t heard yet, even if you’ve already played an incredible number of Crucible matches in Destiny:
In a new video that is currently making the rounds, a YouTuber has laid Lord Shaxx’s voice and the Destiny interface over an already brilliant “real scene,” where a dog chases a dangerous gang of seals back into the sea.
This seems to prove that besides Morgan Freeman and bacon, there is a third thing that makes everything better: Lord Shaxx.
