In Destiny , Hunters receive new exotic leg armor with the “Bones of Eao”: What can these legs do in PvE and PvP?

Three new items were given to the Hunter with “House of Wolves” as exotic armor pieces:

• Khepri’s Sting is suited for close combat and stealth

What does the third option bring, what do the Bones of Eao bring?

They are leg armors with Discipline as the primary stat, enabling Hunters to throw grenades more frequently.

The perks are:

• Heavy Weapon Ammo – this speaks for itself and is always good, most players definitely want Heavy Ammo from their boots
• Freebird – Improves double jump to allow for an additional jump

The “Freebird” perk is quite interesting, as it turns the double jump into a triple jump and the Hunter’s triple jump into a quadruple jump – it does nothing for the Blade Dancer’s “Blink” though.

If Gunslingers forego the quadruple jump, they can have a triple jump that they can better control or that goes a bit higher. Blade Dancers gain the ability to perform a controlled or higher triple jump with the Bones of Eao. Either way: It allows Hunters to soar.

This makes it possible to reach exactly the platform in PvE that previously felt just out of reach. In PvP, it makes you a harder target to hit and allows for daring jumping maneuvers.

What are the Bones of Eao worth in PvE and PvP in Destiny?

In PvE, they are great for “adventure-” or jumping puzzle segments and can definitely be taken along. For boss fights, however, you might prefer something else. Consider them the sneakers that your Cinderella wears to the ball. Once you’re there, you’d rather wear high heels. Yes, and this comparison wins the “That was somewhat inappropriate” award of July.

Back to Destiny: The boots are ideal in PvE for players who might want to save a detour to reach a certain position. Or for those who want to jump off any tall cliff to see how the world looks from up there. For them, it’s definitely a nice item.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering if the legs also make glitching easier…

In PvP, the Bones of Eao play a bigger role: The Hunter’s triple jump is already difficult for opponents to predict and causes chaos. For jumpy players who prefer to be in the air rather than on the ground in PvP, and might also use a weapon with Icarus, the Exotics can be lifesavers and killers that add a special edge to their playstyle.

However, this requires a hyperactive yet careful playstyle with little tricks and hooks to make it difficult for opponents to aim and prepare surprises for them.

Conclusion: The Bones of Eao are certainly not a killer item that makes a weak player a threat, but they are an interesting addition from which experienced players will still get a lot out of.
