The Pain of Merain deals solar damage as an adept weapon. This pulse rifle belongs to the mid archetype. Range and magazine size are fine; however, stability and especially reload speed and aim assist are disastrous.
These are the perks:
Will of Light: Bonus damage against the Taken
Cocoon: When the weapon is stowed, it automatically reloads from reserves
Fireball: Precise kills cause the target to explode
Choice between:
Refined Frame: Increased range, reduced stability
Hand Loader: Effective at longer range
Lightweight: +2 character agility
Additionally, there is Field Choke, Improved Ballistics, and Linear Compensator.
Although the stats are not impressive, the Pain of Merain can be interesting in PvE. The combination of solar damage, fireball, and bonus damage against the Taken is worth a try.
