In Destiny, Guardians have recently been reporting a new issue: SIVA Key Fragments are no longer dropping in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid. Bungie is aware of the problem.
Normally, you obtain SIVA Key Fragments in Wrath of the Machine by overcoming the encounters with Vosik, the Archpriest, and Aksis. However, there have been increasing user reports of inconsistencies. The raid bosses are no longer dropping any fragments.
According to posts in the reddit forum, this is a widespread issue, but it does not affect every Guardian. Some are receiving the fragments as intended, while others, however, are supposedly getting way too many. The drops seem to be very random at the moment. The majority of complaints state, “No SIVA Key Fragments are dropping from the raid bosses!”
Bungie is investigating the reports
What does Bungie say about this? Through official channels: Nothing at all. This is surprising, as this problem seems to be quite extensive. Neither the community managers nor the official Bungie accounts have commented on it. Only in the Bungie Forum has the annoyance made it to the list of known issues.
Therefore, Bungie is now actively investigating the reports:
- SIVA Key Fragments and Depot Keys have disappeared from character inventory.
- You are not being rewarded with SIVA Key Fragments when progressing in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid.
By the way: Apparently, you are still guaranteed to receive the fragments if you open the fourth exotic chest and master Aksis Phase 1.
Is Update 2.4.1.1 to blame?
The “culprit” is quickly found: On November 8th, Update 2.4.1.1 went live on PS4 and Xbox One. This was supposed to increase the rate at which SIVA Key Fragments are obtained:
- The first time a raid boss is defeated, it drops 3 SIVA Key Fragments. On the second kill of the week, there are two fragments, and on the third kill, only one.
- No fragments are dropped at all for the fourth kill and all subsequent kills for that week.
Apparently, a bug was introduced here, which is causing the current issues.
What are SIVA Key Fragments anyway? You can use 10 of them to craft a SIVA Depot Key. This allows you to open SIVA Depots in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid. Additionally, the items are used to modify the raid armor.
