The MMO shooter Destiny is rumored to receive a series of new PvP game modes in March. According to a source, this is intended to bridge the gap until the release of “House of Wolves.”
Since Friday, the Destiny subreddit has been buzzing with so-called “leaks.” A Japanese user had previously delivered “gold” a few weeks ago, showing real screens of weapons and armor from the upcoming DLC “House of Wolves” that had never been seen before and were impossible to obtain. And even though the weapons and armor in this form are unlikely to go live, it was an impressive find that granted the user a fair amount of credibility.
On Friday, the Japanese user correctly predicted Xur’s inventory and made some statements about his inventory in the coming weeks, and also mentioned when the PvP event Iron Banner would return and what would be available there.
Amount of PvP in March in Destiny
Now he is making further statements about various game modes that Bungie apparently wants to use to keep players occupied until the release of “House of Wolves.”
These mainly include the so-called “Inferno Mode.” These are Crucible rounds where the radar is disabled. Furthermore, only “kills” will award points, meaning it is somewhat more stripped down compared to the “normal” Crucible.
According to the user, the schedule is as follows:
- On March 3, Inferno Control – a 6vs6 mode focused on capturing control points.
- On March 17, the Doubles Skirmish will return, and Iron Banner will also be active here – featuring a 36 defense armor, the machine gun Jolder’s Hammer, and an automatic rifle Silimar’s Wrath.
- On March 31, the Inferno Conflict mode is expected to be active, also a 6vs6 mode without the radar. Along with the event, there should also be a round of Combined Arms.
- For April, an Iron Banner is planned again, as well as a round in the Inferno Recovery mode. These are 3vs3 battles. However, the user does not mention a specific date for this.
By the way, no one needs to wonder about the German screens as they were also available in many other languages.
Officially, this is certainly not. It should be noted: Even if these screens and data are real, which can be assumed: It only takes one decision and a patch from Bungie to undo all these plans.
Many fans are likely to react with disdain to the March plans, should they be true. Many are rather longing for PvE activities, but there is neither unofficial information nor anything new officially.
