What is the Iron Banner in Destiny?
The Iron Banner is a special Crucible event in Destiny. In the battles here, player gear “counts,” so it is not balanced. Minor light level differences do not matter much, what is important is especially a fully upgraded 331 weapon.
The Iron Banner is a monthly event. This time, more “maps” will be available than in previous months. It was supposed to be the case already in February, but something went wrong then. They fixed it, but that has been a few weeks ago now, and since then, it is unknown whether everything worked out. The goal of the fix was to include some of the “smaller maps” in the Iron Banner rotation.
If everything went well, the Iron Banner in March should be much more varied than the previous ones.
Iron Banner Guide: What do I need to know for the Iron Banner in Destiny?
This should be the most important things you need to know.
It is important to accept all missions for the Iron Banner and work on them simultaneously as much as possible.
At reputation levels 1 (emblem), 2 (shader), and 4 (class item), there is a special item at Lord Saladin that grants a 10% reputation bonus. You should definitely buy and wear it. These items also work when worn together, and they increase reputation gain.
Victories in the Iron Banner grant 50 reputation. Losses are not that bad either. For a loss, you receive a special coin, which is automatically redeemed after the next victory and brings 40 reputation points. You can collect a handful of these coins, so even bad streaks are not terrible.
Always activate the buff “Hardened,” which lasts 12 hours but can be reactivated as often as desired when it runs out.
How the reputation bonus buff “Hardened” strengthens:
The “Hardened” buff becomes stronger the closer it gets to the end of the Iron Banner in Destiny, on Tuesday. This allows players who have less time and can only play on weekends to also have a chance to receive the important items:

And what is available at this Iron Banner in March? Is it worth it?
If the predictions are correct, there will be two items this week with a maximum light level of 36. These are chest armor and leg armor. A light level of 36 is the current maximum and is enough to reach level 32, if you wear 4 of these 36-light-level pieces. The special thing: The items can be upgraded with Ascendant Shards and do not require the raid materials Light Shards.
It will be that the boots are available at rank level 3, the chest armor at rank level 4. Always assuming that the predictions are correct.
In terms of weapons, if the forecasts are correct, this month there will be the machine gun Jolder’s Hammer and the auto rifle Silimar’s Wrath (you can find the images above).
