In Destiny, the Iron Banner started in April 2017. How you can get the loot is explained here.
The last Iron Banner event in Destiny was the “February Iron Banner”. This took place from late February into March. Therefore, there was no separate “March Iron Banner” – possibly also because with the Age of Triumph, an irregularity occurred in the usual monthly rhythm.
Now the PvP event is back as the April Iron Banner. It starts on April 11 at 7 PM and ends on April 18 at 11 AM. The game mode is Control. Here, there are zones A, B, and C, and at this point, we have two tips: Don’t just shoot at the opponents, but also capture zones. And: Owning two zones is enough.
The featured weapons are the auto rifle “The Unyielding Tree” and the shotgun “The Proud Spire“. Additionally, Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters have gloves and class items.

Updates since the Age of Triumph:
- There is now a chance that Dusty Iron Engrams will contain “Iron Companions” armor pieces from Year 2.
- The rewards for Iron Banner matches have been updated and now include “Iron Companions” armor pieces from Year 2.
- The chance for armor pieces from Year 1 and Year 2 in Iron Banner matches has been slightly increased.
- Some items from Efrideet’s dealer have updated perks.
The Iron Banner Loot – How to Get It
If you are new to Destiny or haven’t played Iron Banner in a while, here are the key facts about the loot. There are four ways to get the loot:
- Purchase from Efrideet: Every month, Efrideet offers two of the “Iron Banner” weapons with fixed perks: This time the auto rifle and the shotgun. The armor pieces can also be purchased from her.
- Random drop after Iron Banner matches: The two weapons offered by Efrideet can drop after matches with random perks. Also, the armor pieces and other Iron Banner-specific rewards.
- Reward for completing bounty quests: If you successfully complete Efrideet’s bounties, you will receive an immediate reward. Any Iron Banner gear piece can randomly be included, not just the items featured this week.
- Random reward for the quest “The Pursuit of Light”, where you need to reach rank 1, 3, and 5 in Iron Banner. This quest is available only once!
