In Destiny, the Iron Banner is starting today, on August 1st, 2017. This is the last Iron Banner in the history of Destiny 1. All information.
The whistle has just sounded for the last Iron Banner in Destiny 1.
Since August 1st at 7 PM, you can play the monthly PvP event one last time, held in honor of the Iron Lords. It lasts for a week and ends on August 8th at 11 AM. Then the Iron Banner era in Destiny 1 will be over.
Normally, Bungie announces about a week before the start of an Iron Banner what rewards will be available. This time, the developers skipped this and only announced the mode: The last Iron Banner will be played in Control mode.

The Iron Banner event significantly shaped the past three years of Destiny and was the monthly highlight for many PvP fans. In fact, the first Iron Banner took place two months before the actual launch of the MMO shooter. Here is a brief chronological summary:
Mid-July 2014: During the Destiny beta, the Iron Banner was live for a short time. It has existed since the beta.
August 2016: The Iron Banner underwent some changes. After the launch of “Rise of Iron”, it was no longer Lord Saladin in the Tower responsible for the PvP event, but Lord Efrideet on Felwinter Peak. After a short break, the first Iron Banner in “The Rise of the Iron Lords” on October 4th. It has since only taken place on PS4 and Xbox One, the hardening mechanic was removed, and the reward system was revised.
May 2017: In the past, only the “standard” modes were played in the Iron Banner, such as Control, Clash, Domination, or Rift. In May 2017, for the first time a Crucible mode was active: Crucible: Clash. This mode repeated itself in July 2017.
August 1st, 2017: The last Iron Banner started.
Over the years, the Iron Banner received various weapons and armor pieces, with some weapons standing out in the crucible. The most rewarding Iron Banner events were:

the one in November 2016, when Lord Efrideet first brought the clever dragon (Pulse Rifle), which dominated PvP for months alongside the Matador.
