In the MMO shooter Destiny, the Weekly Update talks directly to the community once a week. Typically, this is the main source of information for news. However, this week, most information came from entirely different directions.
This week’s Weekly Update for Destiny was rather sparse. No wonder: Since the big story was announced on Game Informer on Tuesday evening our time, fans are still sorting through all the information. And there is indeed a lot. At the same time, Bungie has also released fresh interviews, more information is being released, and trailers are coming out. There’s really a lot going on. We have an information puzzle, and at the moment, most people are still trying to put all the pieces together and realizing: There are still missing parts!
Bungie is aware of this and says: We know you have many questions. We will answer them in a series of live streams, just like last time before “House of Wolves.” Back then, there were three approximately one-hour live streams addressing the main concerns of the fans. The first two went smoothly, but things fell apart during the Prison of Elders.
Otherwise, today’s downtime is categorized as “Preparation for the hotfix“, showcasing a lot of pictures from Gamescom and Cologne, and reminding fans that they can follow the information on news sites (Hey, we are included!). Next week, when everyone safely returns from Gamescom, the Weekly Update will likely be a bit more substantial.
