In the MMO shooter Destiny, a Guardian defeated all raid bosses solo and without HUD. He thought to himself, “With 60 FPS, it looks twice as good!”
The YouTuber Esoterickk has released a video series in recent days, which is currently gaining a lot of attention on Reddit – and is highly praised. In the videos, he shows how good Destiny could look with 60 FPS. So with the double frame rate that the MMO shooter actually runs on consoles.
For the demonstration material, the YouTuber dove solo into the raids and defeated the final bosses without HUD. In his opinion, the result is best with Oryx, which is why we are embedding this video here. Be sure to set the quality to 1080p60FPS:
“Motion Interpolation” is used for the 60 FPS, which creates additional frames. Through this process, the 60 FPS are not perfect and sometimes errors can be seen; however, the frame rate increase makes a good impression.
All his videos with 60 FPS are listed in this reddit thread. There are solo runs against Atheon, Crota, Oryx, Aksis, and even Skolas. One user writes in the comments that while 60 FPS is nice and cool and all, one should also appreciate that the Guardian was able to defeat all raid bosses solo and without a HUD.
Guardians Want 60 FPS for Destiny 2
Further reactions to these videos are “great”, “breathtaking” or “Bungie pls!” Because for some time now, players have been asking for 60 FPS in Destiny. Bungie has not yet fulfilled this wish. For Destiny 1, the train seems to have left; now the Guardians are putting their hopes on Destiny 2. So far, there is no information from the developers whether the future holds more “frames per second” for Destiny.
What do you think of the video? How important are 60 FPS to you in shooters?
