In the MMO shooter Destiny , the challenge mode for the raid is active, and there was exactly the reward that players had hoped for.
Actually, it was thought that the “Challenge Mode” for the raids would only begin with the December patch. However, it has already happened today: The War Priest challenged the players.
In the challenge mode, nothing changes with the boss itself
At around 10:35, the first raids accepted this challenge and defeated the War Priest. The fight goes just as it does “normally”; only certain conditions need to be met.
With the War Priest, it seems to be a “pure” DPS check.
According to initial reports, you apparently need to complete the War Priest in two DPS phases: Good teams do not need to pay attention to anything. Individual players can also die; the team just must not “wipe” overall.
It is becoming clear, that it is probably easier than initially thought: DPS phases do not matter, wipes do not play a big role either. You just need to deploy different aura bearers each time. Even if you fail on one try, you can try again.
Hefty rewards: 320 artifact and more
However, the loot is certainly impressive.
Players in the successful raid received a “calcified” fragment (number 47; XLIII) , an emblem, and also the coveted artifact with a light value of 320. It is now possible to reach a light value of 320 without using any tricks.
Additionally, in the group of Giggle_Monster, who live-streamed this on Twitch, it was seen that heavy weapons with 320 light were present. Others also report that “guaranteed 320 items” drop.
Destiny is really generous with the items
- If you complete the War Priest challenge in normal mode, you get: the fragment, the emblem, a 310 artifact, and a 310 weapon.
- If you defeat the War Priest in hard mode while fulfilling the challenge, you receive: the fragment, the emblem, a 320 artifact, and a 320 weapon.
The light values of the items seem to be “fixed” for the challenge. Here, you’ll find the really good stuff.
It looks like many more players will soon be running around with 320 raid weapons than before.
