Step 1: Obtain a Legendary Sword
On the way to the exotic sword, you first need to obtain a legendary one. Some have managed that already. Our friends from Pro NDC too. Here you can find a video guide for the legendary sword.
To start all of this, you must first complete the main story and the introduction to the Dreadnaught, then go to Miss Eris in the Tower and take the quest “A Broken Sword.”
Now you need to briefly visit Shaxx, then head into the Dreadnaught. You need to collect 25 Hadium Flakes and 10 Light Particles.
How do I collect Hadium Flakes? How does this glitch work?
To collect these Hadium Flakes in the Dreadnaught, there is already a glitch. It’s basically the same as the Ether Chests back then. You open a chest, run away quickly so that a new section loads, run back: Ta-da, loot Hadium Flake chests multiple times.
Even without the trick, it should relatively quickly go to collect the 25 Hadium Flakes. With the glitch, it will be a bit faster. It will probably be fixed sooner or later.
Select Legendary Sword!
When you have the 25 flakes, go to Shaxx, then choose the element you want your sword to have. Depending on which element you choose, you’ll need to gather Helium Filaments (Solar), Spinmetal (Arc), or Relic Iron (Void).
The element you choose for your sword now also determines what element your exotic sword will have later. So it’s important to choose wisely now.
There are 3 different swords to choose from. Each is assigned to an element. The swords block damage excellently that they do not cause themselves.
- Cleaver deals Solar Damage – the legendary predecessor is the Solar Sword
- Bow Thrower deals Arc Damage – the legendary predecessor is the Arc Sword
- Dark Drinker deals Void Damage – the legendary predecessor is the Void Sword
And the exotic swords have their own “special abilities.” We presented the three swords in our article on exotic weapons for “The Taken King.” Which sword you should choose is up to you.
Congratulations on the legendary sword!
