The Old Hunger – Now comes the raid part, quite a bit of stress for the new raid exotic in Destiny
This quest is unlocked as soon as you enter the King’s Fall raid for the first time. Here you need to obtain three special items for Eris, which you can get from the bosses in the raid. To proceed with the quest, the raid must be completed. You will need the following items:
- The Hunger’s Edge from the Warpriest
- The Veil from the Daughters of Oryx
- The Ravenous Heart from Oryx himself
After defeating Oryx and obtaining the three required items, return to Eris. She will now ask you to gather specific materials. You should collect the following items:
- 25 Worm Spores: You can find these on the Dreadnaught. Worm Spores are recognizable by their green glow. They grow on the corpses of the Hive. Tip: Get the Ghost Shell from the Vanguard for 75 legendary marks. This shell has a perk that gives you worm spores with each Engram you find, as long as you are on the Dreadnaught. With the increased drop rate of Engrams, you can earn hundreds of these spores in no time without having to search for them extensively.
- 50 Hadium Flakes: No easy task. Start a patrol on the Dreadnaught. Here, you need to search the small caves and secret passages in the starting area (or alternatively in the Mausoleum) for chests that always contain Hadium Flakes. Some chests cannot be opened without the corresponding key. However, you will often find a chest containing the sought-after Hadium Flakes in the same room.
- 50 Weapon Parts: Dismantle weapons to obtain weapon parts. This task should not pose a problem for you.
For tips on how to obtain Hadium Flakes, you can refer to our guide on the exotic sword or check this out:
Once you have everything together, it’s time to visit Eris again. As a reward, you receive an antiquated rune. To unlock the next step of the quest line, you need to find 30 calcified fragments. The 22 fragments found during a patrol are no longer sufficient. You can find more fragments in the following events:
- Patrol: 22 fragments
- Quests: 4 fragments
- Nightfall completion: 1 fragment
- Strikes: 2 fragments
- Raid King’s Fall: 5 fragments
- Oryx’s Court with the stolen rune: 4 fragments
- Oryx’s Court with the antiquated rune: 1 fragment
- Rest: In chests that can be opened with keys
- The locations of 5 fragments are still unknown
Here are the other calcified fragments that are not simply available in the Dreadnaught:
Calcified fragments and no end…
On the site destinyghosthunter (the link opens this page) you can check your current status under the location Dreadnaught. Here, you can also see which fragments you still need.
Once you have collected the required 30 fragments, the “Hunger” quest line will be reactivated.
