The Gjallarhorn was the iconic weapon of Destiny in Year 1, it took a break in Year 2, but with Year 3 and Rise of Iron, it is back. Unlike before, when it was a random drop and could also appear with Xur, it is now tied to its own quest.
Some pre-order customers have already rubbed their hands: The Iron Gjallarhorn is simply lying in the mailbox and can be taken out. But not so fast, you can only use it after completing the appropriate quest in Destiny Rise of Iron.
So depending on whether you are a pre-order customer and have a right to the “Iron Gjallarhorn”, or if you haven’t pre-ordered and just want to treat yourself to the normal Gjallarhorn in Destiny – our guide should help you with both.
The quest is called “Glory of Destruction” and starts after you finish the story mission in Rise of Iron. The first difficult step is to collect medals “Collect Iron Medallions”. This is best done in “Patrol the attempted lands.”

How to find the Iron Medallions – including the one for Facility 6
It shows you the way to:

Once that’s done, you still need to tackle the mission “A Sign of Honor” – it’s not a big deal. Then you also need to collect inactive Siva – this should also not be a problem for anyone who has made it this far, and then you get the Gjallarhorn – either in the normal version or you can use the iron version from your mailbox.
