Rumors are circulating in the MMO shooter Destiny that you can skip the Iron Banner and still get the loot.
Maybe some of you know the “Eris Morn” trick: It is based on the fact that you can complete bounties for Eris Morn twice a day if you catch her right at the “Daily Reset”. That is at 10:00 AM for us.
Or you might know the problem where the Nightfall starts after the weekly reset and in the end, you receive no reward because Destiny hasn’t recognized the character as “Ah, this is a new week” yet. For that, the character had to be logged out first.
The game seems to sometimes have issues with these “weekly resets” and “daily resets” and how it works with “flying changes” and what exactly players can and cannot do.
Can Lord Saladin be cheesed?
If it’s up to the Guardians on reddit, this mechanic is now to be applied in favor of the players at the Iron Banner. The “cheese” only works for players who achieved a high reputation rank in the January Iron Banner. Players with the “old” rank from January should now be able to purchase the new “February” items.
According to the redditor, players must do the following:
- Log into Destiny shortly before Tuesday 10:00 AM and stay in orbit with your character of choice.
- Go into a “fresh” Tower instance two or three minutes after the reset.
- Talk to Lord Saladin and buy the high reputation rewards immediately.

However, none of this is confirmed and it is surely not intended this way. Therefore, it may well be that it does not work tomorrow or that Bungie, now that it is prominently displayed, takes action against the issue.
Anyone who wants to try it should definitely stock up on Glimmer beforehand. The weapons and armor of the Iron Banner are expensive.
