In Destiny, we present the new “Social Space” of “Rise of Iron”, Felwinter Peak, in detail. The Iron Banner will take place there in the future.
A new week has begun – a week in which Gameinformer will again unveil numerous exclusive details about the upcoming autumn expansion. This time, it’s about the new “Social Space”, the center of “Rise of Iron”: Felwinter Peak.
According to Game Director Christopher Barrett, Felwinter Peak is the former home of the “original” Iron Lords. From there, they monitored the entire Cosmodrome.
At the beginning of “Rise of Iron,” you will climb this mountain and reclaim Felwinter Peak from the Fallen. Once this is accomplished, NPCs will flood in, and Felwinter Peak will become the new “Social Space,” alongside the Tower and the Vestian Outpost.
You will find there new vendors we have already presented here, new quests, a post office, a Cryptarch – everything you need to prepare for the battle out there. Felwinter Peak will be the center of this expansion.
The Executive Producer Scott Taylor reveals that Felwinter Peak will not replace the Tower. The new area is designed specifically for the upcoming experiences. However, Guardians will also return to Felwinter Peak after these experiences: a well-known monthly PvP event is supposed to take place there in the future!
According to the developers, it is appropriate that the Iron Banner will be held in the original location of the Iron Lords from autumn onwards. However, they do not go into detail about how the Iron Banner will work there. But one thing is clear: changes are coming to the Iron Banner.
Felwinter Peak is full of secrets
The Social Space is supposed to hold some secrets for curious Guardians. For example, you can find various bells that you can play with. According to Taylor, something might happen if you ring them in the correct order. Barrett replied “No,” to which Taylor cheekily said, “I don’t know.” Both then laughed.
A really cool thing about Felwinter Peak are the wolves. You will encounter these pack animals everywhere. It is expected that there will soon be many selfies with wolves found online.
At the very top of Felwinter Peak, you will find the mausoleum. This will play a significant role for the new artifacts. Here you will find the statues of the fallen Iron Lords, statues of wolves, and the tree. These symbols are already known from the Iron Banner.
However, missing is the statue of an Iron Lord: That of Efrideet. What is the story behind it?
