A new fun trend is sweeping through Destiny. Players are turning the best exotic weapons in the game into Sparrows, the game’s hover bikes.
What could be better than the Hawkmoon? Two Hawkmoons. That was easy! But that’s not what we mean: Better than the Hawkmoon would obviously be the Sparrowmoon! A “custom bike”, so to speak, that is styled after the look of the exotic hand cannon.
The beginning of this Photo-Shop trend in Destiny was made by the “Sparrowhorn”, the Gjallarhorn as a Sparrow, which has significant cult potential. And to get it, you don’t need any crazy ritual, but just elite Photo-Shop skills:
The Sparrowhorn has turned out to be so popular, being posted in so many forums and Facebook groups, that it has almost become a meme, causing more Destiny fans to let their creative side run wild. This leads to creations like the Sparrowmoon or this one: the Dragon’s Breath as a Sparrow. It looks somehow like something that the USA would drop over an enemy territory, but it has a certain charm, right?
In the USA, such custom bikes are part of the culture, and there are several reality TV shows that follow such mechanics/artists at work. The most well-known is certainly American Chopper. World of Warcraft also tried a similar concept a while ago. Under the title Azeroth Choppers, mechanics were tasked to create two bikes, one for the Alliance and one for the Horde, and then fans voted on which would be introduced into the game. In the end, of course, both were included.
So … Bungie … there is certainly no shortage of ideas from the community. What, by Xur’s flapping tentacles, would actually argue against these things? Can’t you imagine a Titan spending nights in the garage with Ghost, painting teeth on the sides of the Sparrow, or something like that? Are you afraid that your stunt bike, the Sparrow S-30-Tumbler, will somehow seem lame?
