Experts believe that Bungie will still be adjusting the weapon balance in December for Destiny .
When Bungie refers to a “Sandbox” update, it’s when changes to weapon balance occur. Such updates typically happen quarterly. They not only aim to correct injustices but also to keep the game fresh. Not all fans understand this. Many curse: Man, can’t they figure out the balance after 2 years.
But Bungie doesn’t want to do that; they want to keep Destiny and the Crucible fresh and varied. Guardians should try different weapons and step out of their comfort zone.
Weapon Balance in December – More to Come with “The Dawning”
Now it is clear: Next Tuesday, the content update “The Dawning” is set to arrive, but so far, they haven’t mentioned a word about any changes to the weapon balance.
One of the most popular Destiny streamers, Gothalion, believes: There will definitely be a balance patch. He would be shocked if there wasn’t.
Balance patch has followed a cadence. I will be shocked if there is not a december patch. https://t.co/3WoUZ5RUPa
One doesn’t need to be a prophet to come to this conclusion. A look at the calendar suggests the same. “Every quarter” – that’s roughly the rhythm Destiny intended to follow regarding balance changes. The last balance patch came with Rise of Iron three months ago – so it’s overdue.
But why hasn’t anything been stated in interviews or at the convention yet?
Well, such changes often come spontaneously in Destiny and are not usually prominently introduced at public events. Potential fans that they want to reach might be put off by hearing something like: Oh yes, and we’re strengthening the middle archetype of this weapon type by 0.04%. It makes a huge difference, believe us!
Typically, in such a balance patch, currently dominant weapon types are weakened in damage or range, while unpopular weapon types experience a buff. Individual exotic weapons also undergo such treatment.
Perhaps there will be some initial numbers and indications of such a patch in tonight’s Weekly Update. What do you think? Is the next balance patch overdue? And what does Bungie need to change urgently? And why is “shotgun nerf” the only correct answer here? Questions upon questions.
If the 0.04% sounds familiar, the one we just mentioned: That happened a year ago.
