In Destiny, a weapon from “Rise of Iron” has already been spotted in the game.
The update 2.4.0 is now live. It greets you with a new login screen in the “Iron Lord” style, a new music track that reminds some of “The Lord of the Rings”, and some new features. With this update, you have already downloaded “The Rise of Iron” in advance. You can read the patch notes and the weapon balance changes that will take effect immediately and upon the launch of “Rise of Iron” via the provided links.
However, new game content is still locked. The Plaguelands are closed to curious Guardians. But is there really no new toys for early testing? Yes! Reports are piling up that the Trespasser, the new exotic pistol, is already in the game. This special weapon was already shown in the ViDoc from Gamescom. In German, it is called “Unbefugter“.
A user writes that he received the Trespasser from an exotic engram. Here is his proof image:
Bungie has just responded via Twitter: Yes, the Trespasser drops early. But apparently this is not a problem, but intentional; they say: Have fun with it, Guardians!
About the Update 2.4.0
In “This Week at Bungie”, they talk about the changes brought by update 2.4.0. When “The Rise of Iron” is released on September 20, most of what you need will already be waiting on the console.
Now, however, a discrepancy: The expansion begins on that day at 2 AM Pacific Time, which has been known for days. For us, that is at 11 AM. However, the German Bungie site now states that RoI will go live at 1 PM Central European Time. If the launch is supposed to sound worldwide simultaneously, then 11 AM our time is correct.
By the way: Rise of Iron also brings some new trophies and achievements. We will report in detail about these throughout the day.
Known Issues with Update 2.4.0
The update has not only brought new content, most of which is still locked, but also issues:
- The clan overview is still offline. You can see the new clan roster, the clan overview page, but no members are displayed. Additionally, clan tags are not yet available. Bungie will update when the clan features are activated.
- You currently cannot retrieve the following exotic weapons from the weapon collection: “MIDA Multi-Tool”, “Patience and Time”, or “Dragon’s Breath”.
- The “Quest Tracking” feature currently does not work for Crucible quests or any quest steps that involve activities on Earth or Mars.
- When players try to inspect group bounty packages from either Eris or Petra Venj, there is no item preview displayed on the preview screen. Players will still receive rewards from these packages once collected.
- The “Iron Shell” ghost shell is currently displayed with the wrong color scheme. While the ghost shell appears green in the item image, it is shown as the default ghost shell color in the game and on the preview screen.
Update: There are reports that items with higher light levels are dropping. 338 has already been spotted. Additionally, some Guardians are complaining about graphic issues.
Are you directly going on the hunt for the Trespasser? What other new features or problems have you noticed?
