In the MMO shooter Destiny , you increase the quality of items that come from exotic engrams.
In Destiny, a lot will change with the patch on Tuesday: including the quality of exotic engrams. Until now, items could have a light level of either 280 or 310, depending on your own light level. After the patch, it will rise to a maximum defense or attack value of 335, meaning the maximum light level.
This is particularly important for infusing in Destiny , as players can take exotic items with high light levels and infuse them into legendary items with lower light levels. The lower items will then take on the higher light level on a one-to-one basis.
The special thing is: The exotic engrams will contain items that have a higher defense or attack value than the light level the player currently has. However: This refers to the “total light.”
This means: If a player has light 320 but wears a helmet with a defense value of 335 and decrypts an exotic helmet engram, he can still get a helmet with 321 light. It is only guaranteed that the helmet has a defense value of 321 or higher.
“Non-exotic engrams” will yield items with values up to 310 light.
This information was shared by the community manager Cozmo on reddit. By the way, there is no information yet on whether these new rules also apply to exotic engrams that players collected before the patch. This is currently being hotly debated, and we will find out Tuesday evening. The patch is expected around 7:00 PM our time.
