In the MMO shooter Destiny the Iron Banner is active since Tuesday. Is it worth it in July? What tips are there, what items? What do you need to know?
The Iron Banner is a PvP event where Guardians play against each other to earn reputation with Lord Saladin. Level advantages count. Players should enter the Iron Banner with weapons that are as fully upgraded as possible. The light level of the gear is of lesser importance, as long as you are not hovering around the mid-20s.
Those who climb the reputation ranks can soon purchase special gear.
Here are the rewards in Destiny’s Iron Banner in July:
- At Reputation Rank 1: The emblem “Seal of the Iron Lord”
- At Reputation Rank 2: The shader “Millions Millions”
- At Reputation Rank 3: The emblem “Scar of Radagast” and Gloves with Light-36 for the three classes. There are two versions to choose from for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. The first version has 56 Int and 50 Disc with perks designed for auto rifles. The second version has 50 Int and 54 Disc and perks for scout rifles. Additionally, an Etheric Light can be purchased.
- At Reputation Rank 4: The class item and then there is Light-36 chest armor, two for each class. The first version has 82 Int and 81 Str, perks for auto rifles. The second has 75 Int and 81 Disc, this version is suitable for scout rifles. Furthermore, at reputation rank 4, the first weapon is the machine gun Jolder’s Hammer.
- At Reputation Rank 5: The pulse rifle Skorris’ Revenge, the shader “Gold Spiral” and a second Etheric Light. The pulse rifle has never been available before.
Guardians can purchase “Etheric Light” for 5000 Glimmer at reputation ranks 3 and 5 each. Nothing more. Players can use “Etheric Light” to upgrade legendary items. If anyone has Glimmer issues, they can farm here.
Is there anything else?
At the end of a match, three Iron Banner weapons may drop, as it appears currently. Previously there were only two.
Currently, the confirmed Iron Banner drops are:
- The rocket launcher Radegast’s Fury
- The fusion rifle Perun’s Fire
- The scout rifle Gheleon’s Demise
The weapons come with randomly rolled perks.
When does the Iron Banner take place?
The Iron Banner started on Tuesday, July 30, at 7:00 PM. It ends on Tuesday, July 7, at 11:00.
Is the Iron Banner worth it in July?
Actually, not for most. Since Etheric Light is significantly easier to obtain for many and the demand for it has already been largely satisfied, the first incentive is gone.
The armors are not very attractive: auto rifles are currently at a historical low. They don’t look particularly great compared to earlier versions either – and reaching “Light Level 34” is no longer the problem it was in earlier versions of Destiny for most.
The machine gun Jolder’s Hammer is a blast, but since many weapons can now be forged however you want, the big hype is over. The pulse rifle Skorris’ Revenge is a disappointment for most.
Guardians should participate this month more for fun than out of a misguided collector’s frenzy. Unfortunately, the Iron Banner is not enjoyable for many this time: Currently, lags and general frustration is affecting the mood. Where discussions about the best forging options were once common, now complaints are justified. Due to the regular Trials of Osiris, many see the Iron Banner as greatly devalued.
At the moment, it must be said, it is the weakest Iron Banner in a long, long time. Well, players who are playing solo have the chance to get two “Etheric Light” here if they invest enough time. This could be attractive for them. Otherwise, you can only get it through activities that require preset groups.
How does reputation work?
In best television chef tradition, we have prepared something:
- The most important thing is to buy the “Hardened” bonus for a light particle. It lasts for 12 hours and can then be “renewed”.
- Then be sure to wear the emblems, shaders, class items that you can acquire during the Iron Banner. Each piece increases the reputation gain by 10%, and these bonuses count even when they are active on top of each other. They significantly boost the reputation growth.
- In addition, complete bounties, play the Iron Banner vigorously, and do not lose too many times in a row – and everything should be fine.
- If you have more than one character, you can pull the others up with the bonus, which means bringing one character to rank 3, then the others get double reputation until they also reach reputation rank 3. And that’s how you can get 3 Etheric Light “relatively” easily.
- The closer it gets to Tuesday, the stronger the buff becomes.
