Today, on October 4th, the Iron Banner starts in Destiny. This is the first one after the launch of “Rise of Iron”.

Tonight at 7 PM, the Iron Banner in October 2016 will commence. However, you no longer need to make your way to the Tower. The back area remains closed. Lord Saladin has moved to the Iron Temple on Felwinter Peak, where he will stay for the time being. For nostalgia, you can watch the last moments of Lord Saladin in the Tower here.
But enough with the dusty past. The Iron Banner is now on! It is the first monthly PvP event after the release of “The Dawning of the Iron Lords” expansion. What new features should you keep an eye on?
Rewards, Bounties, and Lord Saladin in the October Iron Banner
The Iron Banner in October starts on October 4th at 7 PM. It lasts just under a week until the next weekly reset on October 11th at 11 AM. The game mode is Domination.
Here’s more info:
- The “Hardened” mechanic is no longer in place. You earn the same reputation every day of the week. So tonight is just as worthwhile as the end of the week.
- A match victory gives you 250 reputation.
- The Iron Medallions give you 150 reputation as soon as you redeem them with a win.
- There are four weekly bounties that provide rewards immediately upon completion.
The bounty rewards include:
- An Iron Banner item that is not available from vendors.
- A chance at an Iron Banner artifact or a cosmetic item.
- 25 Legendary Marks
- 750 Iron Banner reputation

The new Iron Banner experience begins as soon as you check in with Lord Saladin. You can find him on Felwinter Peak.
Additionally:
- In the Iron Banner, light-level advantages are active. So make sure you are as strong as possible not to be at a disadvantage.
- You can style yourself as you wish: Iron Banner emblems or shaders no longer provide reputation bonuses.
