The MMO shooter Destiny has started the Iron Banner. We reveal the rewards.
The Iron Banner is back. Starting tonight at 7:00 PM, new matchmaking rules will be tried to reduce lag.
When does the Iron Banner start? When does it end?
The Iron Banner began yesterday at 7:00 PM on January 26. It ends on February 2 at 9:00 AM. So two hours before the reset.

What rewards are available for purchase from Lord Saladin?
In addition to the standard reputation items that never change, there are these items from the vendor this time:
- At Lord Saladin, you can purchase a class item at Rank 3 and another special class item for PlayStation players.
- At Rank 4 you can purchase chest armors and the scout rifle Colovance’s Duty.
- At Rank 5 you can get the fusion rifle Aschrabenfluch.
These items have all “fixed stats.”

What items can drop after fights?
These items can drop after a fight:
- From Rank 2 there will be boots.
- From Rank 3: chest armor and the scout rifle, PlayStation players also have a chance to get a special helmet, those are the Camelot things.
- From Rank 4: The fusion rifle.
These items can drop with randomly selected attributes and stats. For the calculation of what can drop, the rank of your highest reputation guardian counts.

The special reputation packages – Here lies the grand prize
At Rank 3 and Rank 5, players also receive special reputation rewards in the form of a package. To avoid any bugs, you should open the Rank 3 package before receiving the Rank 5 package.
- In the Rank 3 package, there is a rare 310 artifact. Additionally, there were always 4 light particles and 4 strange coins.
- From the Rank 5 package, you can obtain a ghost shell with 310 and either a weapon or armor from the Iron Banner with a value of 310 or higher.
Those were the packages that were available in the last two Iron Banners. One can assume that they will be stocked similarly again.
What attributes do the weapons have?
The scout rifle Colovance’s Duty has interesting stats with Zen Moment, Hidden Hand, and Smallbore/Field Scout/Fluted Barrel. But it is neither top tier in PvE nor PvP.
The Void fusion rifle Aschrabenflug has similar stats with Hot Swap, Hidden Hand, and Enhanced Battery/Polygonal Rifling/Accurized Rounds. They are good, but not the monsters like the first Felwinter’s Lie or the Nirwen’s Mercy from before.
Both weapons should not be a reason to play Iron Banner at all costs.
How do I best gain reputation, what do I need to know about the Iron Banner?
- The Iron Banner will take place in the Rift mode this time. This is quite unusual and predominantly favors groups.
- The standard rules still apply: In case of defeat, you earn “coins” that you can exchange for reputation in the event of a victory. So stay until the end in matches, even if you are sure to lose.
- The most important thing: Complete bounties. You can submit the weekly bounties later in the week if you only want to reach level 5 with one character. Remember to wear the reputation items when you submit the big bounties.
- If you want to play with multiple guardians at rank 5 to earn the “big package” multiple times, keep in mind: If you have one guardian at a higher rank than the others, they receive double reputation until they reach the highest rank.
- In principle, there are two goals: to reach reputation 5 with one guardian or with more than one – it is always important that you are already “on the next rank” with one guardian when you pull the others along, to benefit from all bonuses.
- The “Hardened” bonus is now automatically active. It gets stronger throughout the week.
