A new feature is coming to Destiny: For the first time, the Mayhem game mode will be available in the Iron Banner.
Bungie released the “This Week at Bungie”, this week’s letter to the community. It focuses on one topic: the Iron Banner in May.
Use Your Light as a Weapon
It is already known that Destiny 2 will become a world without light – presumably, Guardians should enjoy their light powers one last time. Bungie states that we should use light as a weapon like never before in the Iron Banner this May. That’s why there will be a Mayhem modifier.
The mode is: Mayhem: Clash
The Iron Banner starts on May 9 at 7 PM and ends on May 16 at 11 AM.
The rewards include the pulse rifle The Clever Dragon and the machine gun The Silver Terror. The Clever Dragon was an outstanding weapon in PvP during the first months after the launch of RoI. However, its wings have since been clipped. The Silver Terror is still one of the strongest and most popular heavy weapons in PvP.
The armor pieces are the chest piece and leg armor.
In Mayhem, your abilities (Grenade, Melee, Super) recharge much faster than usual. These game modes are known as “Super Fireworks”.
What About Maintenance?
Actually, there were supposed to be hours-long maintenance yesterday evening, May 4, but Bungie had to postpone it. They did not announce a new date yet.
Today, there is information that they do not want to disturb the Iron Banner, which is why maintenance is now scheduled for the week starting May 16. As soon as there is a specific date, we will report about it promptly.
What About Destiny 2?
Community Manager DeeJ couldn’t help but stir up excitement for Destiny 2 once again. Currently, we are in the calm before the storm. In two weeks, you will not be reading this Weekly Update, DeeJ says, but rather talking about what you have seen. The gameplay reveal for Destiny 2 takes place on May 18, for which Bungie is planning a big show.
