In Destiny, the July Iron Banner started today, July 19th. Lord Saladin has weapons with exciting perks.
The July Iron Banner is underway. This will be the second to last monthly PvP event that Guardians on PS3 and Xbox 360 will be able to play – unless they switch to Current-Gen.
Lord Saladin has taken his familiar place in the Tower at 7 PM, from where he throws around insignias, shaders, and bounties. If you have achieved certain Iron Banner ranks, you can also access his inventory of weapons and armor pieces. To efficiently rank up, you should diligently complete his bounties.
Next week Tuesday, July 26th, the fun ends at 11 AM. Lord Saladin will pack his things and disappear until the next Iron Banner.
This week you can snag the sniper rifle Weyloran’s March and the pulse rifle Nirwen’s Mercy. You can obtain these cool weapons randomly after Iron Banner matches or by purchasing them from Lord Saladin for 90 Legendary Shards. If you buy them directly, they come with fixed perks.
The perks of Weyloran’s March starting July 19th.
This sniper rifle can be purchased starting from Iron Banner rank 4. It comes with Solar damage and these perks:
- Grenadier: Kills with this weapon reduce grenade cooldown.
- Hidden Hand: The weapon improves target acquisition.
Additionally, you have the choice between:
- Armor-Piercing Rounds: The rounds penetrate the target. However, handling of the weapon is reduced.
- Extended Barrel: Increased range, slower reload.
- Oiled Frame: Faster reload, reduced range.
If you want to increase the range, the Extended Barrel is recommended.

The perks of Nirwen’s Mercy starting July 19th.
With an Iron Banner rank of 5, you can buy the pulse rifle Nirwen’s Mercy. It comes with these perks:
- Balance Adjustment: Stability is greatly increased.
- Feeding Frenzy: Kills briefly increase reload speed.
You have the choice between:
- Quickdraw: You reload faster.
- Reinforced Frame: Increased stability, reduced magazine size.
- Oiled Frame: Faster reload, reduced range.
With Balance Adjustment and Reinforced Frame, you can turn this pulse rifle into an extremely stable weapon. Feeding Frenzy is also a good perk because: The shorter the reload time, the faster you can deal damage again. This weapon can also be clearly recommended with these perks.
