In Destiny there has been the “Cloak of the Pit” for three days, a white auto rifle that, with a lot of care, is supposed to eventually become the “Necrochasm” of the best weapon in Destiny. Today we’re looking at the intermediate stage, the legendary auto rifle “Eidolon Ally” and explaining how you can use a trick to increase your reputation with Eris Morn faster in Crota’s Curse.
Briefly the backstory. Once upon a time in Destiny … a few months ago, they said they wanted to tell the story differently now. “That sounds good,” said the Guardians, “so far it has been pretty lame.”
“Yes,” Bungie said, “we want to do the quests now like before with the exotic loot quests.”
“Ehm … really?” asked the Guardians, because the exotic loot quests had not exactly been the most fun parts in Destiny.
Cloak of the Pit, Eidolon Ally, Necrochasm
Now we have the result of this change in mindset at Destiny: The Cloak of the Pit, the Eidolon Ally, and the Necrochasm are a quest auto rifle that becomes stronger at each stage of the quest. Originally, something like this was also planned for the other quest weapons, the fusion rifle “The Murmuring.” However, they decided against it.
The first auto rifle in this series, the “Husk of the Pit” or also Cloak of the Pit, we introduced to you on Wednesday morning. Swords of Crota, the great sword bearers, have a chance to drop the rifle. Now, the white gun is not exactly a hit and is attracting a bit of mockery. It feels like a pea shooter, while a lot of ammunition comes out, not much is happening here in terms of damage.
What will happen to the Husk of the Pit? And how does it work?
To turn the Cloak of the Pit into the next best weapon, the legendary auto rifle “Eidolon Ally”, you need Rank Level 3 with Eris, under Crota’s Curse, to then purchase the item Embalming Sphere. The embalming sphere costs 10 Black Wax Meditations.
Additionally, you first need to kill enough Hive to be able to upgrade the weapons at all. Then you will get the legendary auto rifle “Eidolon Ally” or “Eidolon Ally.”

How do I get the fastest reputation with Eris Morn?
You need reputation rank 3 with Eris Morn, there’s no way around it. But how do you get it the fastest? There’s a “trick,” better said, a kind of exploit. For this, you need to be able to play in the morning at 10 AM, as new missions arrive from Eris Morn then. It’s important to accept and complete the missions without logging out in between. Once you’ve done that and log back in, Miss Eris should have new missions for you.
Maybe you have time on the weekend, so you might be able to speed up the reputation increase to rank 3 by a day or two, thus shortening the time until you have the Eidolon Ally.
Getting the 10 Wax Meditations shouldn’t be a problem. And you can quickly slice through the Hive, especially if you repeat a correspondingly low-level mission; there you can also farm some serious Glimmer.
And what’s next? How do I get the Necrochasm?
The Necrochasm will only be available in January and even then you probably have to defeat the final boss Crota in the raid Crota’s End for the exotic item “Crux of Crota.” Whether it drops all the time or if there is only a chance to get it, is not known at the moment.
And is the Necrochasm worth all the effort? Is it the new hammer weapon in Destiny? No idea.
At the moment it’s a bit like hunting for something of which one does not even know if one really wants it. Whether the Necrochasm can rank among the currently strongest weapons in Destiny, is still unknown. Currently, the Gjallarhorn and the Icebreaker lead the ranking of the most sought after weapons. However, in the raid Crota’s End, there is also decent substitutes like the Black Hammer and the rocket launcher Crota’s End. But none of those are primary weapons…
