In Destiny, an incredible feat was achieved: A Guardian took down Aksis solo.
The final boss in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid also had to endure the greatest disgrace on October 22: He was defeated solo, just like Crota, Oryx, and even Atheon before him. Since the game mechanics typically do not allow this, and so far a Aksis kill with 2 Guardians was the peak achievement, the Guardian had to come up with something special.
The established game mechanics can be overcome with a Sunbreaker Warlock. However, it mainly takes one thing to replicate “Aksis solo”: skill! In the following video, you can see the incredible achievement of the YouTuber ScaRdrow:
Sunbreakers can do it solo
On reddit, he provides some details about his Guardian and his strategy:
Guardian: Sunbreaker Warlock with 399 Light Level.
Weapons:
- Imago Loop (Hand Cannon)
- Eirene RR4 (Sniper Rifle)
- The End (Exotic Sword)
In addition to raid armor pieces, he also used The Claws of Ahamkara. His artifact was “Radegast’s Brilliance” to have more sword ammo.
If you now think, “I can do that too!” and rush in against Aksis solo, this is not a good idea. The user devised an elaborate strategy to defeat Aksis solo. It’s important during this solo run to initially defeat as many Dregs as possible, as this makes life significantly easier.
Normally, one cannot pick up bombs for a while after using the cannons for the Servitors. This is actually where solo Guardians should fail. However, this Guardian circumvented this mechanic by killing himself and respawning with his Warlock.
In the rounds, he then had to deal as much damage as possible to Aksis – and after 17 minutes, the final boss was defeated.
ScaRdrow himself describes this achievement as the craziest challenge he has ever attempted. He still cannot believe that he accomplished it.
The community is thrilled with this success. In less than a day, the video received over 40,000 views and nearly all positive ratings. People also find it amusing that he still had time to dismantle green items at 7:02.
What do you think about this?
