For many guardians, the last content update for Destiny 1, “Age of Triumph”, was seen as the last sensible opportunity to bring this content in order for Xbox guardians to at least have a few months to play with it before the Destiny 2 era begins. However, that never happened.
Finally, the time has come! The PlayStation-exclusive Destiny content is now available on Xbox. But it’s not really causing any cheers…
“Better late than never” probably doesn’t apply here anymore: Just under a month after Destiny 2 was released on PS4 and Xbox One, in Destiny 1 all PlayStation-exclusive content is available for Xbox Guardians.
For over 2 years they had to wait patiently for some of this content, while Bungie for years failed to communicate clearly when the content could be expected on Xbox.
The PlayStation exclusives from Year 1 released on Xbox after a year. It was therefore assumed that the exclusive content from Year 2, which came in the fall of 2015, would also be released after a year. However, these were unexpectedly delayed and have not been released until now – along with other exclusives that had been released in the following months.
Now, several weeks after the launch of Destiny 2, hardly any Xbox Guardian is interested in this content.
What PlayStation-exclusive content was that again?
Interestingly, the news that this content has now come to Xbox did not come directly from Bungie. Bungie has not commented on this at all. The information instead comes from several guardians on reddit, who report that the content is now unlocked.
These are the former PlayStation-exclusive contents that are now available on Xbox:
- With The Taken King (Fall 2015) came exclusive armor pieces, the strike “Echo Chamber”, the crucible map “Sector 618” and the scout rifle The Jade Rabbit.
- With the April Update (2016) came the sniper rifle Zen Meteor, the Velumbra Sparrow, armor pieces, and an exclusive quest.
- With Rise of Iron (Fall 2016) there was an exclusive quest, a PvP map (Icarus), and the ship “Timeless Tereshkova”.
