At Destiny, we summarize information about the new Strike “Wretched Eye”, the Trials of Osiris, and other content from “The Rise of Iron”.
In a multi-page exclusive article, Gameinformer discusses many aspects of the “Rise of Iron” expansion. We present all the information that we haven’t written about yet.
The Trials in “The Rise of Iron”
Bungie has not yet extensively discussed how the Trials of Osiris will look after the fall expansion with Gameinformer. However, they have already seen the new armor, which can also be styled with ornaments. However, it is reported that it will be difficult to obtain these. The authors assume that you will only receive them if you achieve “flawless”.
The PvP team also revealed: There will be completely new Trials weapons to hunt. And the Trials will start “shortly” after the launch of “Rise of Iron”. Hardcore PvP players among you won’t have to wait long until they can compete weekly in the Trials again. The days before Osiris starts again can be used to raise your Light level.
Information about the PvP mode Supremacy
Gameinformer provided interesting details about the new PvP mode Supremacy. In this mode, the opponent drops items called “Crests” after being killed. You only score if you pick these up. We have already presented Supremacy in Destiny in detail here.
These Crests will be displayed on the radar and in the HUD, so there will likely be more battles over them, with many Guardians coming together. If no one succeeds in picking up the Crests, they will disappear after about a minute – and no one will receive points.
There is even a small backstory to these Crests: Each Guardian has a Crest depending on their class. Therefore, they look different in the game depending on whether you are a Titan, Hunter, or Warlock. In Supremacy, you carry these honorable Crests, which display the emblems, with you. The idea behind this mode is that your “honor” is not lost when you die. Instead, it is only lost when an enemy picks it up. And your goal is to steal the honor of enemies.
The new Strike “Wretched Eye”
In “The Rise of Iron”, there will be revamped Strikes and a new Strike. It is now known that this Strike will be called “Wretched Eye”.
In this Strike, you will fight your way through various old bunkers to eliminate SIVA-infected Splicers. In “Wretched Eye”, there will also be some random elements, so it is meant to provide a certain replayability. Each time you go through, you will take a different path through these bunkers.
Important for the Strikes in RoI will also be the Skeleton-Key System. Each time you master a Nightfall Strike or a Strike in the playlist, you have a chance to obtain a Skeleton Key. You can carry up to five keys at a time. You use these to open chests at the end of Strikes called “Strike Hoard”.
These Hoards are guaranteed to contain the strike-specific items. So if you want one of them, you don’t have to grind that one Strike forever waiting for a random drop, but can play the playlist comfortably and hope for such a Skeleton Key. With this system, you can thus more directly acquire the items you want.

- The “old Cosmodrome”, as we know it now, can supposedly still be explored in the original version. The new snowy version of Alt-Russia will only be played when starting in the Plaguelands or playing one of the new missions.
- Gjallarhorn: Some fragments in the Plaguelands are said to be directly connected to the Gjallarhorn questline. Additionally, some of the Gjallarhorn missions take place on already-known PvP maps, such as Bannerfall or Skyshock. Furthermore, you will learn more about the story and context of the weapon.
- With the new record book for RoI, you can track your progress in the expansion. The progress is account-wide – and not individually for each character. So if you complete the raid with the Warlock but achieve some successes in Archon’s Forge with the Titan, all your characters will have this progress recorded in the record book.
