In the MMO shooter Destiny , a “supposed leak” that YouTubers jumped on caused a bit of panic just before the release of “House of Wolves.”
“Leak! It’s not in the patch notes, but it’s very important. The Nightfall will be different, the weekly Nightfall strike will be harder. Anyone who dies in the “weekly Nightfall strike” cannot re-enter immediately but will be temporarily blocked,” so it echoed in a German video on YouTube yesterday.
Then you have to go to the speaker in the Nightfall to lift this “block.” At the end of the video, it says: They are not quite sure. This is speculation.
The reactions to the video are mildly horrified: Why is Bungie doing this? Do they have nothing better to do? Why can’t they fix the bugs first? This is totally unfair for solo players.

Because the supposed exclusive story originated in the English-speaking Subreddit for Destiny, and on reddit, the story was quickly debunked shortly after its appearance. In the original, the rumor was presented, and directly below the Bungie spokesperson assured: No, that’s nothing. Don’t worry.
Unfortunately, the German video neither referenced the source nor announced Bungie’s “all-clear,” so it became one of the increasingly common “only in Germany” rumors. One hears nothing about them in the English-speaking community. Because there, people who spread rumors also retract them later or others take them over for them.
