In the future, the vault in Destiny will be expanded. The only question is: When?
Great news for the collectors among you. In a conversation with IGN, Senior Producer Scott Taylor revealed that an expansion of the vault is imminent. However, this will not be available at the launch of “The Rise of Iron” expansion.
In the vault, which can currently be found in the Tower and the Reef, Guardians can store their items. All the weapons and gear they find on their adventures and have experienced a lot with can be kept there. However, there is a problem: The storage options are limited. Once the vault is full, hard decisions must be made. Which item do I give up now?
Therefore, the community has been in a tussle with the developers for some time now. After all, many do not want to give up all the items they find. Essentially, the vault can never be too big.
“We are working on it”
In “Rise of Iron”, expanding the storage becomes increasingly important as many new items are being added, and the existing ones do not lose their value. Because you can infuse your current year-2 weapons to the new maximum light level and continue using them in upcoming challenges. Moreover, some items from the first year are returning in polished versions. The vault will certainly overflow.
When the expansion of the vault will take place was not disclosed by Scott Taylor. They are currently working on this “good experience”. In the near future, we will likely learn more details about it, including the extent to which the vault will be expanded.
A few days ago, we reported that there will definitely be no larger storage available on “Day One” of “The Rise of Iron”. At that time, it was still said that this possibility was not ruled out. However, there are no concrete plans.
Now we know: Yes, there are plans now. And Bungie is already working on it.
