The developers of the MMO shooter Destiny, Bungie, have now registered two more names and a logo. Some suspect these are new names for Destiny DLCs.
The three things that Bungie has registered with the US Patent Office are the two names Eververse and Eververse Trading. Co, as well as the logo that we have included in the title. Some time ago, they already secured the rights to the title “Taken King” and an associated logo.
While “Taken King” clearly looked more like Destiny, the term “Eververse” does not immediately suggest a connection to Destiny. However, the “Trading. Co” is enough for the major US site Gamespot to stir rumors about a possible trading system. Although that seems quite far-fetched.
However, the suffix “-verse” in pop culture refers more to a connected, closed universe – much like the Askewniverse, where the films of director Kevin Smith (Chasing Amy; Dogma; Jay and Silent Bob) take place. Perhaps they also plan to offer a kind of “Client” like Battlenet, Arc, or Glyph under this name.
Anyway: Things are happening at Bungie. We currently have no idea what. Although Bungie has repeatedly emphasized before Destiny that their entire fate hangs solely on Destiny and that they are fully involved. But perhaps they are indeed working on a second project.
