In the MMO shooter Destiny, an official trailer for the Sparrow S-30-Tumbler has now been released, which some Guardians have been riding since Tuesday. It is available as a treat for pre-order customers of the next DLC, “Darkness Awaits”.
It initially seemed like understatement, a small thank you to the fans, something not meant to be broadcast: Tuesday morning after the weekly reset, some received a new Sparrow in the mail, with which extraordinary things were possible. Someone then pieced together: This must be for pre-order customers of the next expansion or for owners of an expansion pass. However, there was still no word from Bungie, so fans got on their Sparrows and hit the gas.
Now, two days late, it’s official: Anyone who purchases and redeems “The Dark Below” or an expansion pass by January 15th will receive the Sparrow.
And fan videos and a few stunts aside, Destiny is officially going all out, and they’re indeed putting the Sparrow on a big stage, on a very, very big one.
