Bungie apparently receives support for Destiny. According to a job posting at Highmoon Studios, the 100-man team wants to support Bungie.
No major statement, no interview, just a job posting for a mission designer is the basis for this Destiny news. With a job advertisement on their homepage , the “Highmoon Studios” are looking for an industry veteran with “a passionate relationship with the Destiny franchise.” Because the Highmoon Studios want to support Bungie in working on the innovative Destiny franchise, it further states.
The Highmoon Studios have previously worked on the latest Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and were known a few years ago for a trio of Transformers games ( War of Cybertron, Dark of the Moon, Fall of Cybertron). The Highmoon Studios belong to Activision, the publisher of Destiny.
More is not known at the moment. Speculations are running high: What are they doing there? Are they working on the future DLC while Bungie focuses on Destiny 2? Should they deal with the “last-gen”? Should they do this or that? How does that affect things? Has Bungie overextended and now needs help? Is Activision somehow intervening from the outside?
All these questions are certainly legitimate, but one simply does not know at the moment. It was certainly not planned for the public to be informed this way. Major US sites have asked Activision for a statement. Perhaps we will receive more information throughout the day.
Today, several teams are definitely working on blockbuster titles under the umbrella of a publisher. Recently, Ubisoft announced that a fourth of their teams is now involved in the MMO shooter The Division. It also occurs that one studio develops the main game and releases it under their name while other studios attempt “smaller names” for the game’s DLCs.
