In Destiny a new exotic sniper rifle, the Black Spindle, surprisingly appeared today when a player completed the daily mission in a unique way.
That’s a bit strange. We knew that not all exotic weapons are in Destiny’s database, but that an “exotic variant” of the cult sniper “Black Hammer” could be obtained just like that – surprising.
A player apparently started the daily heroic story mission today. Later, at the point where you have to find 2 relics to escape the temple, he headed towards the area where the “Tanis Strike”; Shadow Thief takes place – to the elevator. Variks surprisingly contacted him and instructed him to free the ship from the Taken.
Then a 10-minute timer apparently started, and the Taken and their captain “Driviks” had to be eliminated within 10 minutes – as a reward, there was the exotic sniper rifle. Also for several in fireteams. It’s probably quite hard to do solo; a fireteam is recommended.
The weapon is very similar to the Black Hammer, even has the “White Nail” perk. According to initial reports, it’s a bit buggy. No matter which scope you choose, Hawkeye is activated.
In English, the weapon is called “Black Spindle.”
The details of the whole thing are currently still quite nebulous. Whether a certain light level must be reached or if it is repeatable at will, whether you can die or not – all of this is currently unclear. You probably need to hurry when you exit the story mission to reach the catch.
It may well be that you need to have a light level of 300 for this particular section to start. This seems to be a kind of light threshold in Destiny after which some interesting things happen.

It has nothing to do with the special item you received when you dismantled a Black Hammer, at least not what is currently known. Everything is still quite nebulous.
It seems that it is absolutely necessary to be on the daily mission or to have someone who is on this mission with you. Otherwise, you get a response that you just missed the Fallen.
